The 5 Biggest Crypto Events in Indonesia and Who Each One Is Actually For
Indonesia hosts more large crypto events than any other country in Southeast Asia, and the reason is straightforward: 22.93 million crypto accounts were registered with the financial regulator OJK as of July 2026, and the country ranks seventh in the world for grassroots crypto adoption.
Five events compete for that audience, and they are not variations on the same conference. One is a convention-centre trade show. One is a beach festival that drew 11,184 people from 90 countries. One is a government policy forum, and one is a Bitcoin meetup with no stage and no sponsors.
Choosing the wrong one is the most common and most expensive mistake foreign teams make in this market.

A note on the attendance numbers in this article
Every attendance figure in this industry is published by the organiser that benefits from it, and none of these five events submits to independent audit. Two rules were applied here.
First, only published results are cited, never pre-event targets. Projections announced before an event are marketing; they are excluded. Where an organiser has published a post-event count, it appears.
Second, the figures are not treated as comparable. Definitions differ between organisers: some count unique badges, some count total entries across multiple days, some include side events in the headline number. A figure is useful for describing one event's own scale and its growth over time. It is not a reliable way to rank one event against another.
That is why this guide is ordered by audience rather than by size.
Why does Indonesia host so many crypto events?
Because the audience is genuinely large.
OJK's monthly reporting counted 22.69 million crypto consumers in June 2026, rising to 22.93 million registered accounts the following month. Chainalysis places Indonesia seventh globally for grassroots adoption, with Vietnam fourth and the Philippines ninth - three of the world's ten most active retail crypto markets sit within a short flight of Jakarta.

Add a regulator that took formal control of the asset class in January 2025, and Indonesia becomes an obvious place to hold an event. What follows is who each of the five is really for.
1. Indonesia Blockchain Week: enterprise and government
The most corporate of the five. IDBW runs at the Jakarta International Convention Center under organiser ONE Labs, in a convention-centre trade-show format: exhibition floor, hackathon, trading competitions, business matchmaking and campus roadshows around the main summit stage. Its theme was "Turning Infrastructure into Impact", framing a shift from building infrastructure toward measurable results.
"For years the industry has focused on building infrastructure. Now we are seeing a shift toward accountability and real results," said co-founder and chairman Adytia Raflein.
Go if you are selling into Indonesian corporates, banks or public institutions, or you need an exhibition booth in front of a domestic B2B audience.
2. Coinfest Asia: the international crowd
The least conference-like of the five, and the one with the widest international spread. Run by Indonesia Crypto Network on a Bali beach rather than in a ballroom - its main venue is the White Rock Beach Club at Melasti - it reported 11,184 attendees from 90 countries at its 2025 edition, with 150+ speakers and 77 sponsors.
That 90-country figure is the number that matters, more than the headcount. It is the widest international reach any Indonesian crypto event publishes, and it tells you what the room is: global rather than domestic. The programme is split into tracks by intent - institutions, builders and traders - pairing open stages with closed-door institutional roundtables.
Bali is both the draw and the filter. It brings in more foreign founders and funds than any other Indonesian event, and correspondingly fewer Indonesian corporates, who are less likely to send staff to a beach for two days.
Go if your target is the global crypto-native crowd, and you are comfortable that most of the room will not be Indonesian.
3. Bali Blockchain Summit: the public sector
The most institutional and least crypto-native. Hosted with the City of Denpasar alongside the Bali Blockchain Center, Indonesia Blockchain Society, Baliola and Mandala Chain, its programme ran under the theme "Blockchain for Protection and Sustainability," with panels on creative-economy protection, data sovereignty, green tourism and commodity market access.
No attendance figures are published, which is itself informative: this is a policy forum with blockchain in the title, not a commercial event measured by footfall.
Go if your work touches government procurement, provincial administration, academic partnerships or public-sector pilots. Skip it otherwise.
4. Bitcoin Indonesia unconference: grassroots Bitcoin
The smallest, the cheapest and the only one of the five held outside Jakarta and Bali. Run in Surabaya by Bitcoin Indonesia together with My First Bitcoin, it uses the unconference format: no keynote stage, no sponsor booths, and an agenda set on the day by the people who show up. Early-bird tickets started at IDR 75,000, and the organisers describe the audience as Bitcoin educators rather than industry delegates.
It earns a place on this list not for size but because it is the only major Indonesian crypto gathering built around Bitcoin education rather than the wider Web3 industry, and the only one that reaches a second-tier Indonesian city.
Go if you care about grassroots Bitcoin adoption and education, or about reaching communities outside the two obvious cities.
5. Web3 Week Asia: traders, founders and regulators
11-12 November 2026 · Jakarta
Founded in 2024, when the first edition reported more than 3,000 attendees, and 5,000+ at the second edition in 2025, with 199+ partners across both, including Binance, OKX, Base, Tether, CoinEx, Indodax, Tokocrypto and Pintu.

The 2026 programme runs on four tracks - Investor Meetups, Alpha Callers, Web3 Entrepreneur, and Indonesia Crypto Outlook 2026. The composition is deliberately domestic-plus-inbound: Indonesian exchanges and regulators on stage, foreign teams in the audience assessing whether and how to enter the market.
Go if you need the people who actually operate in this market - licensed exchanges, local funds, regulators and the traders moving domestic volume - in one room, in the capital.
When size does matter
The argument above has a limit worth stating.
If your objective is top-of-funnel brand awareness - impressions, photos, a logo seen by as many people as possible - then raw headcount and international spread are exactly the right metrics, and Coinfest Asia's 11,184 attendees from 90 countries make a strong case on both. A consumer app launching across Southeast Asia is right to weight size heavily.
Size stops being the right metric when your objective is a specific conversation: a licensing question for a regulator, a listing discussion with a domestic exchange, a distribution deal with a local fund. Those conversations happen with a small number of named people, and the only question that matters is whether those people are in the building.
Most foreign teams entering Indonesia are in the second category and buy tickets as though they were in the first.
If your 2027 plan depends on conversations with Indonesian exchanges, regulators and funds rather than on impressions, Web3 Week Asia runs 11-12 November in Jakarta, and its Indonesia Crypto Outlook track is built around exactly that.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the biggest crypto events in Indonesia?
The five largest are Indonesia Blockchain Week, Coinfest Asia, Bali Blockchain Summit, the Bitcoin Indonesia unconference, and Web3 Week Asia. Coinfest Asia has published the largest attendance result of the five, at 11,184 people from 90 countries in 2025.
Which Indonesian crypto event should I attend?
It depends on who you need to meet. Enterprise and government: Indonesia Blockchain Week. Foreign founders and funds: Coinfest Asia. Public sector and academia: Bali Blockchain Summit. Grassroots Bitcoin: the Surabaya unconference. Exchanges, regulators and domestic traders: Web3 Week Asia.
How many people attend crypto events in Indonesia?
Coinfest Asia reported 11,184 attendees in 2025. Web3 Week Asia reported 5,000+ in 2025 and 3,000+ in 2024. Bali Blockchain Summit publishes no figures. All attendance numbers in this industry are organiser-reported and not independently audited.
Where are Indonesia's crypto events held?
Mostly Jakarta and Bali. Jakarta hosts the corporate and regulatory events, Bali the international and public-sector ones. The Bitcoin unconference is the exception, held in Surabaya.
Is crypto regulated in Indonesia?
Yes. Crypto assets have been supervised by OJK, the financial services authority, since January 2025, when oversight transferred from the commodity futures regulator Bappebti. For the detail, see our guide to Indonesia's crypto market.
When is Web3 Week Asia 2026?
11-12 November 2026 in Jakarta. It is the third edition, following 3,000+ attendees in 2024 and 5,000+ in 2025.
The bottom line
Indonesia's crypto event scene is deeper than most people outside the region assume and more specialised than the marketing suggests. Five events, five distinct audiences, and very little overlap between them. The country's 22.93 million account holders are real, but no single event puts you in front of all of them, and the largest room is not automatically the right one.
Decide who you need first, then pick the room. If that room is the one with Indonesian exchanges, regulators and traders in it, Web3 Week Asia is on 11-12 November in Jakarta, and teams who would rather speak or exhibit than attend can start at Get Involved.
For the market data behind all of this, see our breakdown of Indonesia's crypto market in 2026 and the September 2026 market read.
How these five were chosen: Indonesian crypto events with recurring annual editions and a national or international public profile, drawn from regional event calendars as of 7 September 2026. Attendance figures are as reported by organisers, are not independently audited, and are cited only where the organiser has published a post-event result rather than a pre-event target. Event details were accurate on 7 September 2026; check each organiser's own site for current dates and venues before booking travel.
